Alexandra Devenport

Degree, Program, and date of graduation: Bachelors, Anthropology and Women's and Gender Studies, May 2013

Dates of working with the WGD Program: June 2012 - August 2012

What work did you do with the WGD program?

"I was an intern with the WGD program, and my work was primarily educational. I edited and conducted research for a paper, which will be submitted to a refereed journal, on a Peanut Innovation Lab program in Uganda. I also completed a significant amount of supporting research for various WGD endeavors, such as compiling literature reviews on banana beer production in Uganda and gender in Cambodia."

After-graduation plans:

"My primary academic interest is gender, so I want to go to grad school to further my understanding of and involvement with gender issues, perhaps as they apply to international development. I am particularly interested in East Africa, so I would love to live or work there in the future if possible."
