Project Summary:

Gender equity concerns played an integral role in the work of the USAID/ERA project, as they should with any development work. Since the start of the project’s second year, ERA/Senegal has operated under a comprehensive gender integration framework, which takes into account the need to promote equality in all project activities. In 2011, the WGD program facilitated a workshop entitled “Increasing Gender Equity in Agricultural Education and Research Institutions in Senegal” for a group of Senegalese agriculture experts from several institutions in the Senegalese university system.
