Sunday Ekesi, IPM Innovation Lab collaborator, honored by Entomological Society of America

Dr. Sunday Ekesi, a member of the IPM Innovation Lab’s Technical Advisory Committee, has been selected as an Entomological Society of America (ESA) Fellow of the Society for 2021. Ekesi is one of 10 candidates chosen based on outstanding contributions to entomology in research, teaching, extension and outreach, administration, or the military. 

Ekesi is an entomologist, research for development (R4D) scientist, and leader with extensive knowledge and experience in sustainable agriculture and biodiversity in Africa and around the world. As director of research and partnerships at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, Ekesi manages and provides science governance and leadership on high-level strategic research goals of the institution. In his tenure, he has won over 48 funded proposals (more than U.S. $53 million). As a member of the IPM Innovation Lab Technical Advisory Committee, Ekesi provides unbiased advice and guidance to the program subawards to ensure effective, productive and relevant integrated pest management development and implementation.
